Resolve clangd download failures, incomplete indexes, remote installation and duplicate diagnostics.
What if clangd fails to download?
Run Hornet C/C++: Auto Setup clangd to retry, or use Configure clangd to point to an installed executable. Downloads support the VS Code HTTP proxy and the HTTPS_PROXY / HTTP_PROXY environment variable. Hybrid can still browse with Tag; you can also switch to Flyweight.
Why is the index or call graph incomplete?
Check the compilation database, actual toolchain paths, include directories and preprocessor macros. Review Hornet-DB / Clangd logs for read failures or exclusions. Lightweight scan counts differ from clangd compilation-database task counts.
Why are completions and diagnostics duplicated?
Check for other enabled extensions providing the same C/C++ language services to avoid duplicate completions, diagnostics and indexing.
Which package should I install in WSL or SSH?
Choose the remote workspace host's OS and CPU architecture, then install the extension in that environment. For example, a Windows computer connected to a Linux x64 server needs the Linux x64 package on the server.
Why are there no automatic updates?
VSIX packages are distributed through GitHub Releases and do not update automatically through Marketplace. Visit thedownloads pageto get a new package, install it and reload the window.
How do I submit a useful bug report?
InIssues include your OS, CPU architecture, VS Code / Hornet / clangd versions and steps to reproduce. Logs may contain local project paths; review them before sharing.
Product and third-party notices
Hornet C/C++ is an independent tool, not Microsoft's official C/C++ extension. VS Code belongs to its respective rights holders. The installer retains LICENSE.txt and ThirdPartyNotices.txt; separately installed clangd follows its own license.
